hi, y'all!
i'm lacy.

I'm very serious about the story,
slightly less serious about myself.

My first role onstage was a Wood Elf in The Hobbit in seventh grade. Did I accidentally drop my sword? Yes. Did I pick it up and shoot a glare at Bilbo in an effort to save face? You betcha. Apparently, the instinct to stay connected to the story came early.I started dancing at three, which led to teaching dance at fifteen, high school shows, and eventually my professional acting debut. I played an enchanted, dancing fruit bowl in Beauty and the Beast. (How 'bout them apples?)From there came an MFA in Acting and years of professional theatre, directing, choreography, and university teaching.Somewhere along the way, I fell hard for books again. (A certain wildly popular series involving courts, roses, and winged men may have had something to do with it.) That renewed love of reading found its way back to acting through audiobook narration, which, in hindsight, feels pretty fated.

Through it all, theatre was — and still is — my home base. The place that taught me empathy, how to listen, how to trust an impulse, and how to stay present moment to moment. I approach every book the way I'd approach a play: finding what each character wants, what's between them, and what's at stake, so your story feels lived rather than simply read.Above all, I want to stay connected to the story — and help the listener do the same.
